CORRA: Objectives, Operation, and Membership

CORRA was established in 1996 to enhance the effectiveness of the various partnership mechanisms being employed in meeting the challenges of the global rice research system.

Primary objective
To guide, facilitate, support, and thereby strengthen the partnership among NARES in Asia; and between NARES and IRRI and other relevant institutions; in an effort to meet rice research needs of the Asia region.

• To promote more effective partnership on rice research in the Asian region, and guide formulation and sharing of responsibility in its implementation;
• To guide and promote strong partnership between NARES, IRRI, and other relevant institutions; and among NARES – strengthen established mechanisms; such as research consortia and networks.
